Meet Your Inspectors

Guide Home Inspection was built on a simple belief: every client deserves a thorough inspection, a clear report, and an inspector who takes time to explain what it all means. As former climbing partners, Jake and Daniel learned firsthand that trust and attention to detail truly matter. That's the mindset they bring to every job. When you contact Guide, you're speaking directly with your inspector — not a call center, not an automated system, and not a receptionist routing your call. Jake or Daniel will answer your questions, schedule your inspection, and show up to do the work; The person you talk to on day one is the same person walking your roof on inspection day.

Daniel

Founder & Lead Inspector, CMI - OCHI#2548

Daniel founded Guide Home Inspection with a clear purpose: to help buyers, sellers, and homeowners truly understand the properties they're investing in. After living throughout the West, he found his place in Bend — and has called it home for over twenty years.

Daniel brings genuine enthusiasm to every inspection. He has a particular appreciation for older homes and the stories they tell, and stays current with evolving construction technologies and practices through ongoing training.

Outside of work, Daniel and his wife Amy stay active with climbing, hiking, and skiing alongside their son, Jackson.

Jake

Co-Owner & Inspector

Jake brings a rare combination of field expertise and genuine people skills to Guide Home Inspection. After spending decades leading teams in outdoor retail management — an industry built entirely on trust, product knowledge, and customer relationships — he made a natural transition into home inspection, where those same qualities matter most.

An avid outdoorsman through and through, Jake is as comfortable fly fishing a stretch of the Deschutes as he is on skis in the mountains. He calls Sunriver home, where he and his wife Elisa are raising their daughters, Tallulah and Calla, with the same love of the outdoors and sense of community that defines life in Central Oregon.

Sewer Scope Inspections

Using a specialized camera to examine the condition of a home's sewer line — identifying blockages, damage, or other issues affecting the plumbing system.

Radon Testing

Radon is the leading cause of lung cancer in non-smokers and the second leading cause overall.

Air Quality Testing

Measures levels of pollutants, allergens, and harmful substances in a home's air — ensuring a healthy living environment.

Mold Sampling

Surface samples with lab testing help determine if mold found during inspection requires further action, before it becomes a bigger problem.

Drone Inspections

When walking the roof isn't safe or feasible, we use drones to capture detailed aerial images of a property's roof and hard-to-reach areas.

Home Energy Score

An assessment of your home's energy efficiency on a scale from 1–10, helping identify opportunities to reduce utility costs.

Floor Plans

Using LiDAR scanners to create accurate floor plans that help visualize the home's layout and plan for renovations or furniture placement.
